Hello people! It’s 4th of October today and for me it’s really important day. 71 years ago, on this date was founded Partizan. While you may not know anything about who and what Partizan is but for me today is like a holiday. For me, Partizan is a family.
First things first, let me give you some straight facts before you get all confused. I don’t want you to leave this page before you even start reading it.
Whenever I want to search some facts I look up Wikipedia first and this what Wikipedia says, “JSD Partizan (Serbian Cyrillic: ЈСД Партизан), is a sports association from Belgrade, Serbia and it’s an umbrella organization featuring 26 clubs in 26 different sports.”
In fact, Partizan is one of the most successful sport brands in the world. The football section played in first ever Champions League football final in 1966. Basketball section is one of the most successful ones in Europe. If you ask what team has given the most players to the NBA outside of college, the answer would be: PARTIZAN!
And while there’s a lot more trophies and gold medals and all kinds of awards to talk about I’m not going to do that.
Partizan is not all about winning.
Partizan is more than that.
It’s a way of life, motivation, family.
Partizan is our place where we can find peace at the end of the day.
We call him ours because everything that’s nice to our hearts can be called ours.
But Partizan is no one’s property.
You can’t have it.
You can’t buy it or sell it.
You can’t get anything from Partizan unless you give your best.
That’s the only way how you have right on those unique moments that will be remembered forever.
In one way, it’s a gift from God so we can forget about all the troubles in the world and be happy and put smile on our faces every time we see those black and while colors.
People often ask me why Partizan and not someone else? I don’t know. I don’t remember why it started but I knew the second it started that it’s going to last forever.
There are people who saying how there are teams who are bigger and stronger and you should support them not team from small country. And they are right but there’s something they don’t know about.
We don’t support Partizan.
We don’t need to support Partizan.
That’s something for someone else because for Partizan is enough to just be in love with.
And like everything in the world, there are tough times.
Pain. Tears. Unfulfilled hopes…
But that’s the magic of it.
“It’s not always easy but it’s always nice to have Partizan in your life.”, Dusko Radovic.
P.S. While I was writing this, the basketball section just won their game against Macedonian champion, MZT – 93:62. A lovely present for the birthday!
